President Donald Trump, and leaders of historically black universities and colleges pose for a group photo at the White House on Feb. 27, 2017.

Have you seen this picture before? I doubt it. Not many positive pictures of a Republican public event are ever published, especially a Trump event). Fortunately I did grab a copy myself, as I have not seen that picture published anywhere again (Maybe it has been published somewhere, and I just missed it.

Maybe we could get some more of the actual courses and admission information on the colleges listed and available for young black kids. Maybe something positive for them to think about instead of going downtown and smashing up stores.

Solutions for Baltimore start with civil society, not government

First, we must strengthen families by ensuring that no government program or policy weakens them

The recent uproar over the crime and despair in Baltimore has shined a national spotlight on the fact that people have been waiting years for government solutions to fix the problems plaguing America’s inner cities —  solutions that seldom, if ever, come.

Years ago, as a black woman who had come out of the projects, I realized that the cavalry wasn’t coming. The government wasn’t riding in with the solutions to save the day and revitalize our once- thriving inner cities. Frankly, it was government that had wrought much of the destruction.

Eventually, I started looking to history for the answers. I wanted to know how the newly freed slaves in Post-Reconstruction America survived — even thrived. How did our ancestors build businesses, create outstanding educational institutions, and develop a significant “middle class” with a government that not only didn’t provide programs for the black community, but was often antagonistic?

I learned that they had created a vibrant civil society that consisted of strong families, a powerful faith life, distinguished educational institutions and tightly woven communities where people looked out for one another. These same institutions are the very building blocks we must begin rebuilding today to turn our inner cities around.

First, we need to strengthen families by ensuring that no government program or policy is weakening them. I’ve seen children who grew up without both parents at home begin to have trouble in school and get in trouble with the law. I’ve seen fatherless teens look to drugs and street gangs to fill the void. I’ve seen dependence take the place of work.

I’ve seen children grow up and continue this cycle to the next generation.

Second, we must stop the attacks on religious liberty, stop pushing churches out of desperately needed human services work, and stop marginalizing the positive role faith plays in our communities. Faith gives people hope and teaches them love. It teaches them that there are things bigger than themselves and there are consequences for the good and bad that we do. Churches also provide a sense of community, a place to learn strong values, and a safety net for those in physical, spiritual and emotional need.

Third, we must ensure a pathway out of poverty for inner-city children by fixing our broken educational system. Failing urban schools deprive our children of discovering the potential of their own minds, of proper socialization, and of future career prospects.

Fourth, we must re-establish a sense of community in our broken cities. Recently, we saw a small but poignant example of this in Baltimore — of people coming together to try to fix things on their own when they knew the cavalry wasn’t coming any time soon.

Conservative activist Scott Presler was fed up with the despair he saw in Baltimore. So he used social media to organize a cleanup day, tweeting, “I’m going to go to Baltimore, even if it’s just me standing on a street corner alone picking up trash.”

Of course, a trash cleanup day doesn’t solve all of the inner city’s problems, but it plants seeds of change. Within six days of Mr. Presler calling on people to join him, he had organized over 170 volunteers nationwide and from within Baltimore itself. Together, they picked up 12 tons of trash in 12 hours.

Twelve tons.

The success of the cleanup attracted even more people who wanted to help, so there’s another cleanup scheduled for September. Other cleanups have begun in Newark, New Jersey; Los Angeles; and elsewhere.

Efforts like Mr. Presler’s are what places like Baltimore need. They show the power of individuals in civil society coming together rather than waiting for government to step in. Just as important, the results of these cleanups aren’t just cosmetic. They can have a lasting effect on improving neighborhood safety and pride.

It’s based on the “broken windows” theory: Signs of inner-city decay like vandalism, trash and smaller crimes going unpunished imply that government will tolerate a certain level of civil disorder. That disorder then attracts more of the same and even more serious crimes as the envelope keeps getting pushed. Taking care of the “broken windows” can bring much-needed order, and residents regain respect for their own communities.

For years, our inner cities have been laboratories where the far left has experimented with big-government policies that have ended in failure, harming the very people they said they wanted to help. To turn situations like Baltimore around, we not only need better policies from government, we must reinforce and respect once again the very building blocks of society — family, faith, education and community. These are the places where change must begin to be truly successful.

We hear a lot these days about our poorly functioning school system. Even parents have trouble learning what is going on with their own kids. There is a new book out now that about what is going on with our school system. It is called: The Marxification of Education: Paulo Freire’s Critical Marxism and the Theft of Education. by James Lindsay, PhD,Founder and President of New Discourses.com

I remember, years ago, in the 50’s, I believe, when Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels were setting up their version of Communism in Russia, they made the comment that communism would eventually overcome the US school courses. That did not seem likely, but do you really know what is being taught to your kids in school? Will get into that more later.

If you are up in the ages a little bit (or maybe even more than a little bit) ( I am 85), you have seen a lot over the years. Most of us have chosen one of the two principle political parties to join. There have been a lot of media reports about our country, and also about the rest of the world lately. The first thing I am trying to understand is our political parties. Frankly, they are a mess, and getting worse. Our country, unfortunately, is going down the drain. I found a really great book titled JFK and the Reagan Revolution. I lived through those years, of course. The term “Reagan Revolution” became famous, and I think a lot of people still remember it that way. but JFK, who was president just before Reagan, actually started the “Reagan Revolution”. From the front flap of the book: The Fascinating, Suppressed History of how JFK Pioneered SUPPLY-SIDE ECONOMICS. John F Kennedy was the first President since the 1920’s to slash tax rates across the board. He was essentially the first supply-sider. Sadly, todays Democrats have ignored JFK’s tax cut legacy and have opted instead for an antigrowth, tax-hiking redistribution program, undermining America’s economy.

According to liberal conventional wisdom, “the the great postwar prosperity”-the most cherished period of American economic history-came about because we were smart enough to tax the rich at very high rates, expand government spending, and redistribute wealth

Yet, in fact, the opposite is true. As JFK realized, high taxes that punish success and fanned class warfare harmed the economy. In the 1950’s, when high tax rates prevailed, America endured recessions every two or three years and the ranks of the unemployed swelled. Only in the 1960’s did an un-interrupted boom at a high rate of growth (averaging 5 percent per year) drive a tremendous increase in jobs for the long term. The difference was Kennedy’s economic policy, particularly his push for sweeping tax-rate cuts.

Kennedy was so successful in the ‘60s that he directly inspired Ronald Reagan’s tax-cut revolution in the 1980s, which rejuvenated the economy and gave us another boom that lasted for two decades.

America, the Beautiful. We Talked about it that way once There even was a song by that name. We don’t hear that song anymore, on radio, TV, or anyplace.

We clearly are not as beautiful as we were at our start. Can we bring it back? or is it gone forever. We hear about the awful things going on in our country every day

on most TV channels, and most newspapers

or

I live in a very nice senior citizens building with 100 great people.

We are located in Baltimore, which is, as are pretty much all US cities, run by the Democrat political party. I started learning about politics a long time ago when Ronald Reagan was President. He talked about his thoughts on running the country, and the best way to control the economy, the best way for the American people and the country, and in the world we have to live with. I thought he made a lot of sense, so I joined the political party he belonged to, the Republican Party.

After a shaky start living here, I have learned to make friends, even with a lot of dedicated Democrats. I soon learned that Democrats will not watch FOX TV--ever. They just don’t like or trust it—They watch what they believe in--msnbc, cnn, etc. One thing they will not see, on any of Those channels is the thousands of deadly poison candy colored pills brought daily across the border into the US in clear plastic bags. I talk carefully with them at dinner and other events They are all very nice people, but they have heard so much bad about Republicans on “Their” TV and newspapers, that I have to show them that a Republican can actually be a nice person too.

One things we should be talking about is the poison coming across the border, and how many Americans are dying.

Recent data shows that there are more deaths in America from this poison, than there were from all of Covid: Very scary. We need to hear more from our Government about what our families need to look for to save our kids, and adults, from death by these dangerous pills that actually come from China, through Mexico, and up across our southern border, that Biden still insists is “Closed”.

I do watch FOX TV quite a bit, but I have been switching over to MSNBC(and some others) for a while to see the kinds of things everyone else here is looking at. well, this morning, Sat April 22, I turned on FOX, and surprise, they brought in as a guest, Robert F Kennedy, Jr. We all probably remember the Kennedy times. Usually considered some of the better days of our country.

Can we have a productive talk about some of this widely, with a lot of big city people?

Call it a Conversation With the People!!

A weekly 30 minute TV program to be released to commercial TV,

and also installed on USA.gov or some other web site for access by anyone  In The country

Start a conversation on Poverty, Education, and Children’s Health

Especially in our Black Population

Why are our black kids found to be sicker than our white kids? Japan has the healthiest children!!  Maybe we could learn something from them.

And why is black family income so much lower than white, and even lower than Hispanic family income (see below.)

Education has long been controlled by Democrats in DC, and in all of the big cities.

Education is key to starting a successful life, and keeping our country strong in a dangerous world.

Look at Data from the U.S. Census Bureau - 2018

Real Median  Household Income by Race:

White family income:         $70,642/yr.

Hispanic family income: $51,450/yr.

Black family income  : $41,361/yr.

Maybe poor black education, and poor health as a kid are some of the causes of lower Black Income. The education we should be able to fix, but parents have tried in many towns, without any real success.

I am sure that we have some great teachers here, but their are also very powerful unions that have their own agenda. You will not find this problem in Russia, China, etc.

Lowered black Success and lower income later in life. There are, we know, many blacks who have overcome all of this and are doing very well, but there are too many who are not.

We Promised in the Civil Rights Acts of 1964, and again in 1957, and again in 1960, to make African Americans into REAL AMERICANS.

We must start by fixing our schools

There are  near zero proficiency in many city schools. Look at this, - Baltimore Failed Schools: Fox Baltimore.com, may 17, 2017

Black Population is being Demonized by Liberals in our schools.

liberals are DESPERATE to destroy every Black conservative!

They know the ONLY way to keep Blacks voting for Democrats is to spread the lie that all Republicans are racist. That's why they call Sheriff Clarke a "traitor to his race.

And that's why they spent MILLIONS to target and defeat Rep. Mia Love and have now set their sights on Burgess Owens, another rising star in the Republican Party.

And It’s why they won’t let principled Black Conservatives like Representative Byron Donalds join the Congressional Black Caucus.

And it's why they attack men like Justice Clarence Thomas by calling him hateful names like "Uncle Clarence."

There is obviously more work to do here. I am still learning things about this web-site business, I will keep working on it, My oldest Son (who also lives here in Baltimore, has been a big help getting this web site set up. After going to Princeton, (how come our kids turn out to be so smart. he moved to Baltimore, married, and raised 3 kids here. Their daughter is now going to Yale. (another smart kid). Now, if I could just learn how to do this web site a little better!! My son does have a full time job, and a family and house to take care of, and also, after living in Baltimore for so long, he has become - dare I say it? a Democrat. Oh Well, I am thankful for what we do have.

If you and I reclaim just 12% of the black Black voters, the Democrats will be unable to win another election...

...and nobody knows this more than the Democrats.

That's why Democrats - desperate to keep their stranglehold on Black voters - are pouring tens of millions of dollars into SCARING Black voters with the vicious LIE that conservatives like you and me are all RACISTS.

So please help me FIGHT BACK against the Liberal Lies and take the fight to the Democrats with a generous contribution  TODAY!
